Apology for a long message

I am extremely delighted for being able to take charge as principal of Siddique Memorial School and College. It is because of many reasons. Listing of reasons may not be appropriate or may not be exhaustive, because, many of the reasons may be intangible in nature. Yet after that, some of the reasons those may easily be spelled are listed below:

The College is established by my younger brother as a matter of fulfilling the long cherished desire of my father, who devoted his life for better education of the youths. Served as a teacher in both schools and colleges, realized the need for fundamental education of the youths, established SCAFE, meaning, Siddique’s Coaching Aimed at Fundamental education”, and pursued for quality education of the people at their early age, which is in fact the root of success from the institutional education.

Following the footsteps of my father, my younger brother again dedicated his time, efforts and money to do something better for the cause of humanity. Besides his many other philanthropic activities, he established this wonderful institution, SMS&C, and pursuing yet to upgrade it to the status of University.

Being a military servant, I had almost no possibility of being closely associated with all these noble venture of both my father and the brother, yet, I was always proud in sharing the achievements.

Throughout my professional career, I pursued for higher education. In the process, I did my B.Sc. Engineering from BUET, Masters in Defense Studies (MDS) from Defense Services Command and Staff College affiliated to National University, Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST) affiliated to Dhaka University, Professional Engineering (PEng) from Institute of Engineers Bangladesh (IEB) and many other profession specific training and courses.

In the later stage of my service career in the military, I had the opportunity to perform as an Associate Professor in MIST and in Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). During my teaching career besides working as a teaching faculty, I was head of a department in MIST and founder Dean in Faculty of Business Studies (FBS) of BUP. After retirement, I was a visiting teaching faculty of BUP and Associate Professor at Army Institute of Business Administration (AIBA) at Saver.

My teaching experience gave me a clear feeling that we need to work hard to breech the gap between current status of quality education and its desired level. I do strongly believe that, children of our country have huge potential and given the scope they are capable to win the world, only need is careful attention for the development.

I also believe that, students are not at all at fault for the current educational situation, instead, it is the system, environment, inadequate scope etc are at fault.

With the prelude as above, I as the principal of SMS&C started to dream for my contribution for a better future through the development of children having enormous promising potentiality. I consider it to be a great opportunity for me. My message to the students and the potential ones – ‘you can do miracle, if you wish to, but the wish is to be supported by your devotion’. My message to the parents – ‘please allow your children to pursue their passion and facilitate them to become a responsible one’. My message to the teachers – ‘remember you are with an invaluable task, success of your life can only come from the success of your students”.

I do understand that SMS&C has limitations, but however, If we all focus our attention to the purpose of the institution, it may not be difficult to cross the hurdles. If we can really believe and pursue the saying, “Deed, not word is success”, then, it should not be far to establish SMS&C as an ‘Adobe of Excellence’. It is not at all difficult for us to develop our institution to a standard high enough to match with any internationally reputed institutions.
